A laser cutting machine is a device that uses high-powered lasers to cut various materials. It generates a high-density beam by exciting laser media via electrical discharge in a sealed chamber. Optical components focus this laser beam onto the workpiece, achieving clean cutting through melting, evaporation, or burning.Proper maintenance of laser cutting machines is essential during daily operation, especially in winter.
Check seals and components
Inspect the seals around key components of the laser cutting machine for wear or damage. Low temperatures can worsen existing issues and lead to leaks or malfunctions.
Lubrication
Cold weather causes lubricants to thicken, which reduces the smooth movement of mechanical parts. Regularly lubricate all moving components with low-temperature resistant lubricants to ensure stable operation.
Replace filters
Filters need more frequent replacement in winter. Poor indoor ventilation and increased dust circulation can easily clog filters and reduce equipment performance.
Drain cooling water
One of the most critical steps in winter maintenance is protecting the cooling system. Water freezing inside the pipes can cause severe damage to the machine.
Monitor water temperature
Closely monitor the temperature of the circulating cooling water. The water temperature should be kept above 0°C to avoid freezing and solidification.
